Children's Story Hour

Children's Story Hour was developed to provide childcare for the choir members' children during Adult Choir Practice.  Sisters in the congregation take the children (ages ranging from 3-10 years) to the fellowship hall for Bible based stories and fun-filled crafts/activities.  A snack is also served during this time.  Story hour usually occurs twice a month.

The scripture for this month's craft can be found in the book of Psalms.  It reads, "I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well (139:14)."

We recorded this scripture onto a dry erase board for the children to read.  We explored the meanings of the following words:  praise, fearfully, wonderfully, marvellous.

We discussed that though we share similarities with many people, we each are created unique by God.  Like our fingerprints, no two people are exactly alike.  How loving our God must be!  He IS marvelous and worthy of our praise!

For the craft, we used a variety of acrylic paints to paint each child's handprints onto a canvas board.
