| Haiti Trip 09 |
|
We thank the Lord for allowing us to be able to travel to Haiti and be involved in the ministers convention. It was a very profitable trip. We felt impressed to take the revelation chart and studied with the ministry on the revelation message. It really effected them, and the community. I have been posting on the pastors blog each day of the missionary journal for each one to read. We are now updating our mission page and adding the complete journal along with photos. We appreciate all the financial support, and prayers for this mission trip. We have been invited back in March to preach at the convention and visit more congregations in the mountains. We trust you will hold this up in prayer and pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ in Haiti. We hope you enjoy reading the journal, and seeing the photos of the trip. God bless each one. Haiti Mission trip Oct. 30th-Nov.9th
Oct. 30th was the day that we left. Teresa and I got up at around 4:00am to be at the A/P by 7:45. Of course like usual I forgot something and had to go back to get it. Sis. Wendy Pecho was kind enough to let us use her car so we picked it up and headed to Charlotte. I got there in plenty of time but I forgot the truck keys in my pocket so I had to call Teresa to come back and get them. I didn’t mind because I got to see my sweetie again. I made it to Miami just fine and hooked up with brother Roger. We had the same flight and even got to sit with each other. I showed him the revelation chart on the computer and we talked about the things of God. We made it to Haiti just fine and Bro. Nathan and the brothers met us there. They have a couple of brother s that work in the A/P at Port au Prince so they take us right through customs. That is a real blessing. We arrived at the mission house and ate supper, I called Teresa, and then pretty much turned in. We had a long day ahead of us for Saturday. Oct. 31st We got up at 5:00am, got showers, and I looked at my arm and had little red dots all over it, yes, it was bed bugs, oh well, we ate and got on the road. They stopped and got me some rope to tie my sleeping bag onto my back pack, and I also needed a pair of sunglasses. Then we headed to the mountains. The scenery was awesome. It took about 3 hrs just to get to the area where we were going to get the horses. I promised Kelby if the horses were too little I would not ride it up the mountain. Well it looked ok to begin with but it didn’t work out so well. I will tell you about that later. Back to getting the horses, we had 13 brothers’ total, and only 5 horses. Well a brother that was 71 years old walked the whole way 3 hrs on foot. It was amazing; another brother in his 60’s did the same thing. I beg them to take my horse and they wouldn’t. Well Bro. Roger had some difficulty getting mounted up so I gave him a leg up, you can see that in the photos. We all finally got mounted up and started out. The terrain was rocky to say the least, real rocky and really step in places. Again look on the photos to see how steep. We crossed a couple of rivers and came to a very steep mountain. My horse got only half way up and could not make it. She was giving out. So I got off and started walking, I walked the rest of the way, and it was a long way, about another hour and a half. I was exhausted when we finally arrived. We all rested some and got ready for service. The church and grounds were very primitive, extremely as a matter of fact. The church was full some were in the windows and doors; it was the first time missionary had ever been in this area. Bro. Roger or Bro Nathan had never been there it was a difficult trip, but we thank God he gave us the strength. Oh, yea, Bro. Nathan fell off his horse also. He didn’t get hurt though thank the lord. We also had a pastors meeting while we were there. It was very good. Nov. 1st. We got up early in the morning to get ready for service. I woke up at 4:00am and about 6:00am they turned the lights on and about four feet above my head was a huge spider on the wall. I just let him alone and went about my business. I got ready for service; it was scheduled for 7:00am because they wanted us to have enough time to get back down the mountain. The service did not start till about 8:30am. It was a good service, we had one sister come and give her heart to God. At about 11:30am we got finished and went out to eat. We ate and waited for them to bring us the horses, it took so long for them to bring them we decided to start walking and let them meet us on the trail. We walked for about an hour at a really fast pace. Finally Brother Roger said he had to stop, so we stopped and rested for awhile. Right when we were about to start walking again here they came with the horses. They brought a big one first for Bro. Roger and we got him up and ready to go. I started to get walking and then they brought a horse for me. It was bigger than the one on Sat. so I decided I would see if see could carry me. I got on the horse really easy so they Haitian brothers just gave me the reins and let me follow the group. We did pretty well until we started down a steep incline on the mountain. It was really steep the same one my horse got stuck on the day before. Well we started down the she started having problems. She went over to the edge of the mountain and stopped. When I say the edge I mean right at the edge, it was over a 200 ft. drop to the bottom of the mountain. I was scared. I could not get her to move, and I was afraid to do too much. I tried for a little while but nothing worked. When I looked up to ask one of the brothers if they could help me they were gone. Then I really got worried. I decided to pray and talk to the horse at the same time. Finally I got her to go, but just to the other side of the path and she stopped again. I got her to go again, but still only to the other side of the path and she stopped again. One more time I got her to go, but that was it. She stopped at the edge of the path. She would not move. She got so far off the path if she had of moved I would have rolled down the mountain. I decided to get off of her. That was a task. I had a back pack on that weighed about 30-40 lbs. I got it off very carefully and dropped in on the ground, thank the Lord my computer still works, then I eased off of her and glory be to God I landed on my feet. By this time no one was around me, I couldn’t even hear voices at this point. I started to pull on the horse and she would not come, I finally said please Lord let this horse move. Thank God she finally started down the mountain. I walked for about a quarter of a mile on the path, not know if it was the right direction or not, and finally came to the river and some of the brothers were there. I was so glad to see them. They tried to get me to get back on the horse, but I knew she would not be able to make the other steep climbs, and descents, so I walked. Wow! It was really hard. I praise the Lord though each time I came to a steep climb the sun went behind a cloud and a breeze would blow. I walked to 2 hours that way, and it was so hot. Before we left I took my tee shirt off and put it on my head to keep me from being sun burnt any worse. I really got blistered the day before. Bro. Nathan said I looked like the Taliban. When we got close to where we had started the day before I began to praise God. When I sit down under the tree, I wanted to weep for God had done for me. I’m telling you that God really carried me that day. It was a 2 hour ride back in the car and I was miserable. We got back to the room got showers and got ready for Church. I called Teresa right when we got back and she was really worried. God had troubled her and Bro. Seth; I know they were praying along with others. This is the amazing part of the story. Morgan and Kelby always write me notes to take on trips with me; they always put a scripture on each one. One for each day, on Morgan’s note for the day I was stuck on the mountain I opened it up and is said, Luke 4:10 For it is written, He shall give his angles charge over thee, to keep thee. I thought that was really awesome. Service that night was good Bro. Roger preached. We got back to the room and it we both pretty much died. I tried to talk to Teresa but the phone went dead. Nov. 2nd. Bro. Roger ask me to speak in the first service in the morning. They have two in the morning for the minister’s conference. The Lord took our thoughts to the stone cut out without hands. I really felt burdened to bring the revelation chart. We got it hung and preached on the stone. There were only 4 in the audience that had ever seen a revelation chart. They were amazed. They really rejoiced in the lesson. When we got finished Bro. Roger ask me if we wanted to continue so I did. With God’s help the spirit brought more understanding to the ministry. They really rejoiced to understand the opening of the first seal. We shared with them that the work of God is divine. They really were responsive to the lesson. For that we are very grateful. We went to see sis. Merai in the hospital, this is bro. Isaiah wife, she has cancer and is in really bad shape. She was so swollen I did not recognize her. The saints gathered around her and prayed and sang many songs to her. Please remember her in your prayers. That evening Bro. Roger preached a wonderful message, there was much rejoicing and many souls came to the altar. By the time we got back to our room the power was off. We both tried to take showers to cool off a little. By the time I finally went to sleep I was a sweaty mess. It was terrible. Nov. 3rd. This morning I got up at 6:45am and was ringing wet with sweat. I got in the shower and then started to study. We preached on revelation again and felt led to share with them the binding of the dragon. God helped, and many were at the altar praying. I was amazed to see their reaction to the message. Bro Roger again ask us to take the next service in the morning, so we shared with them the woman in the first seal. Again the spirit brought understanding. They seen the church in its glory, wow they really were amazed. We came back for lunch and this is what we have been doing for now. Catching up on the journal. In the evening service Bro. Roger preached on influence. It really was a good message, what I could hear. It is so hard to hear when you sit behind the preacher. Many souls came to the altar. That night we got back to the room, I was really looking forward to getting a shower to cool off a little. Well it was not possible; there was raw sewage in the bathtub. Oh well praise the Lord anyhow. We got Bro. Moses to clean up the tub the next morning. He did a great job. He is quite a fellow. Nov. 4th. We did not have any power again last night. I was wet with sweat again with I got up at 7:15am. I got up and got straight in the shower. I forgot to mention that the chart ripped the first day we hung it. Bro. Daniel found a man to sow it and he done a great job. We ate breakfast and then went to hang the chart. In the first service we taught on apostasy and the opening of the second seal. Then we did a daring thing, we opened it up for them to ask questions. I was truly amazed. They really had so good questions. They next service was on the opening of the third seal. We dealt with the beast and the Catholic Church; oh they really had questions then. We did not get out of the service until 1:00pm. They were all talking among themselves, and it seemed as if they were really stirred in their hearts. We left the chart hanging so they could look at it. We ate lunch and then laid out the shoes the congregation provided for me to bring. I had two suitcases full of shoes, I know they appreciated them. I did not watch them get them, but when I went back out they were gone. Well we are getting ready for the evening service now. Write more later. Well service was difficult tonight. The generator kept going off during the singing, and they have a fellow here named Bro. Moses. Needless to say he is quite a spectacle when he gets wound up. When Bro. Roger finally got to preach the generator did stay on. At altar call I noticed a brother praying with a brother and something was wrong. I felt like going to him so I did. When I got there I felt a spirit was working on the brother. He was getting up from the altar about to leave and I ask Bro. Nathan if he would ask him if we could pray with him again. So the brother knelt and I ask him if it was a physical problem or a spirit, the brother admitted it was a spirit, so we began to pray with him, he started shaking really bad. When we finished the prayer he started to talk really fast, I ask Bro. Nathan to interpret for me, he said it was just a bunch of gibberish. We anointed him with oil and cast a Pentecostal spirit out of him. He really jerked and talked strange, but I feel God delivered him. Thank the Lord. Well good night, good hot sweaty night again. Nov. 5th. We got up around 7:45am. We really didn’t sleep well at all. There was no power again, and the room seemed it’s hottest yet. The morning shower felt show good. I can’t tell you how much I appreciated the shower. We went to the service and God really put His blessing on it. The altars were full of the ministry seeking God for an anointing, and power, to work against the forces of evil in Haiti. I can’t thank God enough for it. We went to Dumay to Bro. Nathan’s congregation. He showed us the spot they kidnapped him. His building is smaller than the church at Cuoix des Bouquet but he has a school in the back with 500 students that attend. He also has a clinic for medical needs. I took as much information as I could to share with the doctor. We had a long day. The evening service was good. Bro. Roger preached on running. Souls were at the altar seeking help. The brother that was delivered from the Pentecostal spirit the night before was back at the altar. I watched him close. At one point he looked up at me and smiled. He did not shake, or speak in tongues. After service he ask me to come and talk to him. He told me to pray for him and remember him, that God was his father and he wanted it to stay that way. I really, really, rejoiced. There is deliverance in Christ. Nov. 6th. I woke up at 6:00am and felt wonderful. The air had run all night, I slept so well. Thank you Lord. We ate breakfast and then went to the orphanage. They have close to 100 children there now. Several babies, one set of twins, and a boy that was found in the cane fields. Another boy was taken because his father had almost beaten him to death. He was only 3. The service this morning went very well. The response to the revelation message was incredible. I am truly amazed at God’s power. They took so much in, and gave so much back in questions, comments. They were bringing people from other denomination churches, friends, and family in. Thank the Lord for His goodness. I am not sure, but I felt the burden lift this morning, so we might speak in the morning, might not. As God leads. I am thankful, for His faithfulness. Bro. Roger preached a powerful message and there were many at the altar. I thank the Lord for the moving of His spirit. Nov. 7th. When we got up this morning I went to the bathroom and kept smelling something like sewage. I found it, in the bathtub. It was pretty bad. Bro. Moses came in and cleaned it up for us and they called a plumber. Oh well praise the Lord anyhow. Bro. Daniel came and told us they were having problems with the generator so we would not be starting the service until 10:00am. I went ahead and ask Bro. Roger if he felt like going ahead and he did. So we got to the church and waited a long while. They finally got the generator going about 11:00am, so Bro. Roger preached on the opening of the 6th seal. It was real good and the brothers rejoiced. There was not enough time for two lessons, so he just brought the one, and we put the chart up on the platform for the evening service. Bro. Roger felt led to preach on the 6th seal again. That evening he preached on having the seal of God. It was really good, and to see the chart I decided to sit in the audience. A brother came over to me and sat down. He said he was the overseer of 7 congregations and that he was apostolic. He said my people need this message. You have to bring this chart and preach this message to our churches. So I gave him a card. We expect him to call us. Thank the Lord. Nov. 8th. I had a terrible night. I got up about 5:45am and could not sleep. Bro. Roger had ask me to take the morning service. I was really under a burden for it. They knocked on the door for us to have breakfast, but I just did not feel to eat. I’m glad I didn’t because Bro. Roger got sick after the service. This morning we felt led to share with the people knowing Jesus. The Lord helped us and many souls came to the altar. I am not sure how many were saved but it was several, at least 15. I am so thankful for God’s faithfulness. Well we got one service to go tonight and then home tomorrow. I am ready, the burden has lifted until next time, or next place. We got invited to the Dominican Republic, so we will have to pray about that. We had a ministers meeting in the afternoon. Please pray for the work in Haiti. Bro. Roger preached the evening service, and even though he was sick, he really let it roll. I was thankful for how the Lord helped him. We went back and ate a little and then packed up everything we had left. Well tomorrow is the day. We are headed home. I am ready. God help us for the leading of His spirit for our next missionary journey.
